FAQs

Any organistion with a UK presence supplying products and/or services to the UK mobile channel e.g. distributors, MVNOs, operators, dealers, retailers manufacturers etc.

Charging an entry fee helps ensure that only serious and committed participants enter and raise the overall quality of submissions. It acts as a filter to discourage casual or non-serious entries. Judging the awards comes with various costs. Unlike many awards events who have their judges work remotely, our judges meet together in real time!, This involves venue hire, catering, and audio visual production costs The entry fee contributes towards covering these expenses, ensuring the event is professionally managed and maintains a high standard. And unlike just about every other awards event which charges PER ENTRY, we only charge ONE entry fee whether you submit a single or multiple entries.

No.  You only pay for one entry regardless of how many times you enter, The £225 fee is a ONE-OFF PAYMENT and you may create entries for as many relevant categories as you like. The 100 per cent discount for entries of more than one will be applied when you SUBMIT your entries and complete the check-out process.

An entry must relate to a product, service or commercial activity available to the mobile channel and (where applicable) consumer customers from January 1 2023 to December 31 2023

Your entry will be seen by our panel of judges who will be asked to sign a declaration that they will not reveal the contents of your entry. We reserve the right to publish extracts from winning entries in print and online. If there is any sensitive information you would prefer not to be in the public domain please mark it CONFIDENTIAL. We will not reproduce any data from marked content. Please use this exclusion sparingly.  Requests to regard the ENTIRE entry as Confidential  will not be accepted

Your entry will be judged by mobile industry professionals but assume they know little about your organisation/product/service. The judges have a limited amount of time to examine entries, So keep your information succinct and packed with data statistics and customer and user reviews and endorsements.  Avoid fact-free mission statements and PR puff. Get an outsider to critique your entry before submitting it

Supply supporting evidence for every claim (e.g. customer feedback, independent market research etc)

You can upload files (20 MB max) and provide judges with links direct to additional supporting material such as videos and customer testimonials. We strongly recommend you make use of this feature to supply supporting material.

Select the right awards category based on your strengths.

Here's an important bit - STICK TO ANSWERING THE ENTRY CRITERIA.  We have seen entries be marked down because they did not directly answer the entry questions.  For exams, if the Question asks about sustainability don't respond with details of employee diversity achievements.  Stick to answering the questions. Don't respond to questions that haven't been asked. Use plain English and steer clear of jargon.

Information that gives your entry the best chance of a win includes independent testimonials,  turnover and profit KPI's, published reviews etc. Although the judges are mobile industry experts don’t assume they know every detail about your sector or product.

The British Chamber of Commerce offers an excellent advice on how to enter and win awards here.

Mobile News has prepared a guide of key points in how to prepare your entry to win here

If you have any queries about what your entry can cover please email awards@mobilenewscwp.co.uk and we will respond quickly with advice.

No.  Not every entry makes it to the shortlist. Judges evaluate each submission, and only the top four or five entries, based on scores, are shortlisted. This number may vary depending on the total entries received for a category. We believe that including every entry on the shortlist would diminish the significance and prestige of being a winner or a finalist. Our approach ensures that the shortlist represents the highest calibre of entries, maintaining the competition's integrity and distinction.

A list of Finalists will be published as soon as the judging is completed on or about February 7, 2024. Notifications will be sent to each Finalist with an official Mobile News Awards logo for use in marketing and PR.  Mobile News Awards Finalists are selected by the judges.  Entering does not automatically make you a Finalist
